‘The Stone Buddha Seated on a Square Pedestal in Gyeongju’ is believed to have been created during the Unified Silla period and managed as a tangible Seoul cultural property since 1974. Recognized for its cultural value, it was designated a national treasure in 2018. The statue is distinguished by its balanced proportions, expressive fullness, and delicate fan-shaped robe folds, showcasing the high standard of Unified Silla Buddhist sculpture, following the style of the Seokguram Grotto's central Buddha.

This stone seated Buddha is unique among existing Unified Silla stone Buddhas as it is the only one with an intact head and body, complete with a square base featuring lotus patterns.
