Cheong Wa Dae Entrance Closed at 4:30 p.m.
However, if a Tuesday coincides with a public holiday or alternative holiday, Cheong Wa Dae will be open that day, and will be closed the following day.
Touring Method
- Anyone who has booked through the Cheong Wa Dae reservation system can freely explore Cheong Wa Dae.
- Seniors aged 65 and above, the disabled, national merit recipients, and foreigners can apply for on-site entry.
Up to 2,000 individuals are admitted daily at the Main Entrance Information Center and the Chunchumun 37 Gate Information Center. - You can enter through the main entrance or the Chunchumun Gate. Please show your ID and the entry barcode you received during your reservation.
- Smoking is prohibited throughout Cheong Wa Dae.
- We recommend bringing bottled water and an umbrella for your Cheong Wa Dae tour. Disposable items are not provided to protect the environment.
- Facility tours may be restricted due to maintenance, events, building damage due to snow/rain, or concerns about visitor safety during natural disasters such as typhoons.
- In case of crowds, you are encouraged to wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Visitor Guidelines
Please observe the following so that all visitors to Cheong Wa Dae can have a pleasant and comfortable visit.
Regulations on the Operation of Cheong Wa Dae Tours (Amended on May 15, 2023, under the Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Ministry Directive No. 487)
- Disorderly conduct
- Consuming alcohol, smoking, cooking, or peddling
- Engaging in specific religious activities or actions that cause discomfort to others
- Entering areas outside the designated tour areas
- Collecting flora/fauna or rocks
- Bringing in devices or materials that pose a fire risk or are flammable
- Touching or damaging the main facilities, National Heritage, etc.
- Damaging trees or other plants
- Littering
- Using electric mobility devices, e-scooters, or other powered devices
- Operating drones or other unmanned flying devices (except when prior permission is obtained)
- Any other actions that interfere with Cheong Wa Dae tours or its management
Visitors are not permitted to bring any of the following items into the Cheong Wa Dae.
Nonetheless, a person who intends to bring in prohibited items must first obtain permission from the director.
- Foods that produce substantial waste (e.g., watermelons, oriental melons, other fruits, and soupy foods such as instant noodles)
- Plant and insect collection tools, sports equipment (bicycles, balls, rackets, inline skates, kickboards, etc.), camping gear (tents, shade covers, etc.), and various cooking tools
- Instruments and other items that produce noise, including amplifiers and loudspeakers
- Items that pose a fire risk, including open flames and flammable objects
- Sharp objects commonly used in daily life, such as knives, scissors, and tools or extensions
